Peavey Plaza

So I was sitting here, think about what to tell you guys. I could tell you about my experience going to my second movie screening, BUT, I think I would rather tell you of my experience GOING to the screening. On the bus, we passed this magical place in downtown Minneapolis called “Peavey Plaza” Before really taking a good look a this place I was thinking, “Pet Peeves” you know?

Well, outside of this plaza, we see normal everyday people walking about their lives as any other person would.  But as soon as these normal people take a step into Peavey Plaza…I’m not sure what happens, if they are swept away by a strange unexplainable array of magic, or maybe they are just crazy, but like I said, as soon as they take a step into Peavey Plaza, they just start dancing.

Given the fact that they were all listening to their MP3 players, not just randomly dancing.  But still, the people outside of the plaza weren’t dancing, just walking…but one foot inside Peavey Plaza it’s attack of the invisible music dancers.  In the end, I realized I was the only one laughing at them

How’s it crackin’?

So guess what? This site has been gathering cobwebs. I think it’s about time for me to update you all about whats been going on for the last week or so.  I’ve told you about my job at Macy’s, well let me tell you a little bit more.  I’m really enjoying it there. I get sent around a lot, doing different jobs, such as handing out Sandwiches, soups, sandwich wraps, salads, pasta, hot dogs and finally ice cream. There is a candy bar, but I haven’t worked there quite yet.  Anyhow, like I said, I’m really enjoying it, and having a great time there. But at home there is drama.

The people here that I’m living with are expecting me to be saving up for school at either Ivy Tech or a couple other community colleges in the area.  Well here’s the thing.  Working at Macy’s alone, I’m not going to save enough money for college, and I am positive that I can get financial aid, and that would be able to cover it, and if not, there are always loans.  What the people here don’ t know, is that I’ve all but decided against Ivy Tech again.  They are a sloppy bunch of workers in a flaky school.  And like I said before, trying to go there just…is too dificult when your a couple states away.

Anyways, I will be emailing the people in MCTC and Normandale soon (the other community colleges here) and tell them my situation, my friends are convinced they should help me, but in reality, why would they? They require a 2.0 GPA, and because of my lack of an education in college, its unfortunately lower than that.  My friends again said if I explain everything, they should be able to help…who knows? I can try.  And if I can’t…then things get super sticky in the drama department.

I don’t want to waste the people here’s time.  I do have a life, and I’m not gonna be dumb enough to waste all my time saving up money on something I’m probably not going to be able to afford, so I’ll be safe about it, but I do have a life. And sometimes, I’m going to have to buy things in order for me to live. So what am I going to do if School falls apart again? Good question.

I like working at Macy’s and I’m starting to actually have a life here, so for me there is only one solution.  I have to stay, there is no question on that…but not in this house.  I’ll have to find a cheap apartment with someone with rent under 400 dollars.  I don’t know how many of you know this about rent here, but for some reason, its really expensive.  Now Craigslist does have some cheap listings, so I’m hopeful in the worst case scenario.  BUT Macy’s is technically an on-call job…it’s not entirely dependable to live off of… but it’s also basically part-time and I get an average of about 20 hours a week, and get paid weekly… I don’t know.

PAST THAT, lol I’ve had a pre-screening the other day, and while the film itself was just alright, the overall experience was pretty darn cool.  They went all out on the movie.  For example, the film was called “Whiteout” and it was a thriller that took place in the south pole.  The theater had fake snow machines going, and handing out free snow cones, and then it was a VIP theater, which was super comfortable.  Also the movie started on time…it was listed as 7:30, and it started AT 7:30, very cool, only two trailers, and the movie begun.  Overall, the experience was fantastic.

So yeah.  Other than that, I haven’t been up to much, BUT TV shows are beginning to air, which I’m excited for.  You can head over to xpodcast.wordpress.com to read my recaps when they begin. Peace Out!
